I haven't seen the actual Players Handbook yet, but I do love that they are modifying alignment as you're describing. Too often alignment turns into "what side are you on" in the game, like all Chaotic Evil monsters and NPCs are going to work together for the "higher cause." I have never thought that's how it's supposed to work (and most of the authors of D&D-based novels would seem to agree).
4th Edition also had flavour text for all the abilities describing what it looks like when the ability is used. Other than that, though, I think this is the only other book I have seen it in.
I like the spell descriptions for flavor, but I love the spell index in the back of the book if I just want to see the basic mechanics at the table. I backed the KS eventually, but only because the backer levels got filled to the point where it would cost me more to get the bonus content separately than to get it WITH the books too. I'll need the VTT, because my in-person group seems welded to 5E... C&C is a great system put out by people, and not a corporate behemoth who doesn't care about D&D's history.
Amazing Adventures is great, as it's now more universal - like a SEIGE Engine version of GURPS or d20 Modern/Future. Before it was just "pulp" or "steampunk" or "age of sail" game. Sanity is listed in the C&C Monster Manual so CK's of Amazing Adventures ("Chronicle Keeper") can make use of it - so they don't have to re-print Goblins, etc. in the AA Monsterous Manual.
I dislike the new spell descriptions. I don't want to read 3 paragraphs during the heat of play. It's a deal breaker for me as a CK. I'm sticking with the original books. I don't personally know anyone getting Reforged.
I am huge fan of C&C but I also did not back the KS because I really dislike how they wrote the spells. If I had known the spells in AMazing were going to be written the same way I would not have backed that KS.
@RealmBuilderGuy I've been a gamer since the 80s, Castles and Crusades feels like old school D&D. I look forward to a long and enjoyable game without drama.
Castle keepers guide has sanity rules in it... They just wanted the core game to be straight forward, with other optional rules being in other books or free for the CK to add.

I didn’t spend much time with 4e, so I appreciate you letting me know.
This is the best D&D version ever!
He is back
Well... time to update my C&C books. Thanks for the vid.

Awesome, thanks!
Just Ordered the Starter Bundle!! Been looking to get out of DnD since they got political. Love what I see so far. Thanks for the review.
You’ll love C&C

I think they put in the sanity stats to use with AA. I don’t think it is intended for C&C.
Probably
BEST. REVIEW. EVER.
Interesting I just switched over to Castles and Crusades from Pathfinder.
Welcome to C&C!

no. Disagree. No sanity rules in C&C. C&C is supposed to be D&D. Not another game.
Fair enough

@@PlainSumGames Right CKG isn't a core rule book. It is specifically a book of options not part of the core game.
@ I’ll need to dig more, as I couldn’t find it initially.
